Quick-thinking cleaners stopped a bush fire from getting out of control this afternoon.

Ringway workers, Bracknell Forest Council's street cleaners, were driving along Market Street at around 1pm, when they saw the flames they saw the bushes on fire a few metres from the council's offices.

Bracknell watch manager Miles Cooper said the fire had been accidentally started by workers putting down new double yellow lines.

He added the Ringway workers used water from their street cleaning vehicle to put out the flames.

Crews from Bracknell and Wokingham made sure the fire was fully out and were there for less than 15 minutes.

Is this the same fire that was reported by your other reporter? It is either becoming an obsession to report on fires or we really do need to find today’s Moses to tell us what the signs are that we are being given!!...... What’s that? Phillip Lee......... Stand down......... it’s telling us in the fires that burn around us.
