Caravans and cars are still parked near Jennett's Park after they arrived at 2.30pm yesterday (Wednesday).

Police confirmed they are patrolling the area where five caravans and five cars are parked near Peacock Farm pub, Peacock Lane.

Caravans move on to land near housing estate

A police spokesman said the council and landowner had been informed after residents feared a Traveller site had been set up on their doorstep.

The council said they are aware of the issue.

A spokeswoman said: "We are liaising with police."

It's all well and good the council saying that they are aware of issue, and liaising with the police, but what are they doing about it?

It's been some while since travellers have parked in this area - and it is so annoying to find they usually leave lots of rubbish behind them. It is frustrating that it takes quite a long time to get the necessary permission to move them.

Certainly they do need somewhere to park but the rest of us how to pay Council Tax etc. to live where we do.
