Tributes have been paid to a ‘generous’ and ‘beautiful’ estate agent who died at a Christmas party.
Danielle Cooke, 22, from Hanworth, was found at the bottom of a fire escape stairwell at the Millennium Madejski Hotel in Reading just before 1am on Saturday, December 22.
In a statement her family said: “Danni was a generous, intelligent and beautiful young woman.
“Our family is still in shock at her untimely death and would like to request that the press and public respect the family’s wish to mourn her loss in privacy and with dignity.”
Danielle lived with her dad and brother and worked as a lettings negotiator for Atkinson & Keene, in Maidenhead, part of the Romans property group.
A Romans spokeswoman said: “Danielle Cooke was a valued member of our Atkinson and Keene Lettings team in Maidenhead and was popular with her colleagues and clients.
“Our thoughts and sympathies are with the family and we ask that their wishes for privacy to mourn their loss are respected.”
Schmicel of Wokingham posted on www.getbracknell.co.uk: “A colleague who will be missed by all, RIP Danielle x.”
A post-mortem examination carried out by a Home Office pathologist on December 23 found Danielle died from head injuries consistent with a fall from height.
Her death is still being investigated by police and is being treated as unexplained.
An inquest into Danielle’s death had not been opened at the time the Bracknell Forest Standard went to print.
Det Insp Phil O’Neil said: “We are continuing to treat the woman’s death as unexplained and are progressing a number of lines of inquiry in order to fully understand the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.
“Inquiries such as this can take some time but we are keeping Danielle’s family fully informed of our progress.”
