Thieves raid tree surgeon's yard

By Becky Barnes
December 17, 2012

Two chainsaws, a wood chipper, climbing kits and a trailer have been stolen from a tree surgeon.

Thieves entered the yard of Berkshire Tree Care, in Billingbear Lane, Binfield, and stole an orange Timberwolf wood chipping machine (pictured) serial number 20105025ARB at around 3am on Tuesday, December 11.

The thieves also stole two Stihl chainsaws model MS200T and MS260, climbing kits and a silver 6ft by 10ft flat trailer.

The trailer has two-wheel axles and a jockey wheel fitted to the right side of the draw bar.

It also has two metal upright extensions welded to the uprights at the front of the trailer with a piece of 4x4 wood fitted across.

Three people dressed in hoodies and a 4x4 drive vehicle were spotted in the area and police want to hear from anyone with information.

PC Marius York from Bracknell police station said: “I would like to hear from anyone who noticed suspicious activity in the area, if you are aware of someone acquiring tools fitting the above description, or if you saw a 4x4 vehicle towing a trailer.”

Call 101 and speak to PC York or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org.

I wonder if the culprits are the same tarmac laying ne'er do wells who fly tip South Road on a regular basis?
