The grand vision for Winchester House has caused concern among traders, who fear the plan spells the end for the town’s market.
Hazel Kent, who runs the Market Café, contacted the Bracknell Forest Standard after viewing the plans.
She said the idea of moving the market has not been discussed with any of the traders and raised fears about the whole market complex being out in the open.

She said: “I, along with all the other stallholders, are absolutely fuming. I looked at the plans again and it turns out that the market is going to be outside.
“How on earth are many of the stallholders expected to trade in a windy city in outside units?
“Will these so-called structures contain enough space for chest freezers and a seating area?
“What about the fish man and the butcher? They all need running water and storage facilities.
“What about the rents? A large number of the stallholders at the moment can’t afford the rent and often have to put their hands in their own pockets as they don’t take enough money each day to pay the daily rent and so if they go up, this will prohibit many of us from being able to trade.
“This has been the most stressful weekend for me and everyone else.
“Perhaps it’s another storm in a teacup and nothing will come of the plans but for God’s sake, a bit of courtesy from the council and all involved wouldn’t go amiss and just to keep us stallholders in the loop isn’t really too much to ask, is it?”
Robert Sheppard, senior engineer at Comer Homes, said the market would be a “pivotal part” of the new development.
He said: “It is up to the council to decide what is done during the time it is being built, but the development could allow the market to grow and thrive.
“There will be more than 300 people on their doorstep needing fruit and veg and bread.
“Also, from Hazel’s point of view, there will also be 300 hungry builders who will need feeding every day, so there’s real potential for her.”
Councillor Paul Bettison, leader of Bracknell Forest Council, said: “Any redevelopment plans for Winchester House must include provision for a future market and we will work with the owners of the building, Comer Homes, in the best interests of market traders and the regeneration of the town centre.
“The plans which have gone on display recently are interesting, but are speculative at this stage.
“We are very keen that the redevelopment of Winchester House moves ahead as soon as possible and we look forward to receiving a formal planning application from Comer Homes.”
