Time out for Merrydale nursery parents

Mums and dads were given some time off with nights out for parents of children at Merrydale Day Nursery.
The idea was thought up by the parents’ forum, which allows them to give feedback and offer ideas.
Four dads bonded over bowling at the Hollywood Bowl on Friday, March 23, and the following Friday nine mums met for a meal at the Prezzo restaurant.
Hannah Looper, manager at the nursery in London Road, said: “It’s fantastic as they have got lots of shared experiences and being a parent can be isolating.”
The parents plan to meet up monthly and hope to recruit new members from the parents of the 46 children at the nursery.
Merrydale Nursery takes children from three and a half months to five years.
