Ascot’s Jenna Randall and Olivia Federici finished ninth in this afternoon’s Olympic synchronised swimming women’s duet free final.

Randall and Federici posted a total score of 89.170 points, 7.59 behind a bronze medal position at the Aquatics Centre.

The pair were the first British synchronised swimming duet to reach an Olympic final in 20 years, and improved on their previous Olympic performance in Beijing when they finished in 14th place.

The final was won by the Russian pair Natalia Ishchenko and Svetlana Romashina.

Randall, 23, was born in Ascot and is a member of the Rushmoor Synchro Club, as is 22-year-old Federici.

The pair will be in action again on Thursday and Friday in the synchronised swimming team event.
