Reading Abbey 22 Reading 20

Danny Muston kicked a last-gasp penalty for Abbey in this Berkshire Cup quarter-final tie on Sunday.

But their win was marred by a nasty rib injury to player-coach Glenn Hunt midway through the second half.

Dorking 21 Reading 13

Reading crashed out of the EDF Energy Intermediate Cup after conceding a late try in their third-round tie at a wet and windy Brockham on Saturday.

The visitors were up against the slope and wind in the first half and found themselves 14-0 down. They were trailing from the 40th second when Dorking scored a try converted by Jamie O’Brien.

Hartpury College 43 Redingensians 0

Gensians were soundly beaten in their cup tie by the Gloucester-based College side whose 40-strong squad includes many players who are members of the younger England age group teams.

Unbeaten  in three seasons, they currently head the Western Counties North table and look well on their way to securing another promotion.
