London Irish’s Aviva Premiership play-off dreams are over they last 26-20 to rivals Northampton Saints at a sun-drenched Madejski Stadium.

Two tries from England wing Chris Ashton did the damage as Saints were always in front, but scores from replacement Richard Thorpe and Seilala Mapusua, in his last home game for the club, kept things interesting.

Irish finish their campaign with a trip leaders Leicester Tigers in two week’s time.
