Revenge over Wigan is high on Reading FC agenda

There can be no underestimating just how big Reading’s game against Wigan Athletic on Saturday is.

Monday night’s trip to Old Trafford to face Manchester United in the FA Cup was merely a appetiser in relation to this crunch relegation sixpointer.

When Royals went to the DW Stadium to play the Latics in November they looked well in control during the first half and should have had more than just Sean Morrison’s header as a buffer. After the break –the capitulation began.

Right-back Chris Gunter was torn apart and Jordi Gomez, roundly booed by the home fans that afternoon because of previous poor performances, hammered home a hat-trick.

Midfielder Jem Karacan didn’t feature that afternoon due to a knee injury suffered at Liverpool, but he is desperate to make up for lost time.

“We have to look forward to Wigan at home now,” said the 23-year-old after Monday night’s 2-1 defeat to Man United.

“We need three points. It will be great to do that on Saturday and we will be working hard for that. “We had United on the ropes and we have to take the positives. We showed what we can do and we never backed down.

“The competition here is really good, but I hope I have staked my claim to get the shirt back. I want to play every game and that’s my aim.”

Skipper Jobi McAnuff, who refuses to label any game at this stage of the year as a ‘must-win’ also knows how important it is to give Royals some breathing space and to climb back out of the bottom three as quickly as possible.

“They’re all big games from now until the end of the season,” added the winger.

“From earlier in the season when we lost to teams in and around us it’s important to win the game.

“From here on out it’s just about picking up as many points as possible and not losing any ground.”

I was there the day they got promoted to the premiership at the expense of our play-off place, so would love to stay up at there expense!

Yep season defining game. It is must win what ever they say. You certainly cannot give teams around us 4 or 6 points and expect to stay up. Villa and saints to follow and we must do unto them as they did to us! Wigan are a bit of a party pooping team so it will be hard!

If they play with the commitment that they showed at Mann Utd. Its will be an easy win

You are entering the vicinity of an area adjacent to a location. The kind of place where there might be a monster, or some kind of weird mirror. These are just examples; it could also be something much better. Prepare to enter: The Scary Door.

   Biggest game of the Season.

Just hoping and praying we play with the same attitude and commitment that we did against ManU and absolutely stuff 'em!

Don't give a monkey's what the team is or the formation just so long as we win!

G'arn URZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ !
