Stopilla Sunzu has claimed he is on the verge of signing for Reading.

The Zambia centre-back was on trial at Madejski Stadium last week.

Sunzu, 23, has since joined up with his international team-mates ahead of their African Cup of Nations game against Ethiopia today.

"Everything went well," former Arsenal target Sunzu said.

"I'm happy because I passed the assessment and now it's up to TP Mazembe and Reading to finalise the deal.

"When they do that, I will sign the contract."

Lester - Stopilla Sunzu (born on 22 June 1989), also known as Stophira Sunzu, is a Zambian footballer who recently signed for Reading as a defender. He scored the winning penalty kick for Zambia in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations Final - From Wiki?

I know it means nothing until its officially announced by the club - but I remember looking on the Hoffenhiem website and seeing Sigurdsson listed as one of their players the day before we announced he'd been sold!!

top player and able to bring it out of defence, good passer,, very similar style to rio ferdinand. When he has to defend (no nonsense), when he has a bit of time on thrle ball (uses it well). He'll do well for reading.

Agreed, Kelly slotted straight in & had the composure and confidence that we've been missing (and not afraid to stick his foot in)....sounds a bit w@nky but brought a bit of balance to the team.

Well first things first. Please don't get injured!

Secondly; I hope he either has a great campaign and comes to the Mad Stad in barnstorming form. Or (and no offence) I hope Zambia go out early to goals he couldn't prevent.

Having Gorkss back in the side could cost us.

Lester -- Wish we'd hurry up on Sunzu as Arsenal whispers are getting louder... I think Curtis Davies would be useful for us but suspect would only be as well as Sunzu if others were to go (Pearce? but preferably Gorkks?)

Was impressed with Kelly on Saturday & despite my initial concern Leigertwood played very well.........

We are (dare I say it!) starting to look like having a chance
