Bring on the Villa - says Reading FC boss
By Jonny FordhamNovember 27, 2012
Reading boss Brian McDermott is ready for the Villa after his sides disappointing defeat at Wigan.
McDermott's squad travel to 18th-placed Aston Villa tonight (8pm kick-off) knowing that a win would see them swap places with their opposition.
However, having recorded just one Premier League victory all season and making the trip off the back of a dramatic last-minute defeat at the DW Stadium, Royals must pick themselves up quickly.
And McDermott said: "After a result like that it takes a while and Sunday was tough.
"Having said that, we move on quickly and personally I can't wait to get going against Villa.
"I'm glad we're playing away from home and I saw Villa play Arsenal the other night and they got a good point.
"We know if we get the right result and performance then we will go up a space.
"There are some fantastic teams in this league. Everyone is chipping away ring to get points - we're doing that and so are Villa."

Villa have been finding this season tough, much like Reading, but McDermott knows better to underestimate a side of their pedigree.
"Clubs go in cycles - I remember in the 80s when they were champions of Europe and had fantastic players," McDermott added.
"Historically they're a massive club. They have a young side now that work hard and have plenty of pace and have a good spirit about them."

We have Southampton and Sunderland coming up, with a couple of winnable games over Christmas, so let's stay positive and get behind the team. A win tonight will be great, but a draw or a loss aren't the end of the world as some people seem to suggest.
