Halabi impressed by Reading players’ fitness

Karl Halabi has described Reading’s physical work on the pitch this season as ‘superb’.
Halabi, who is head of sports science at the club, works with each player daily to ensure their fitness levels are at their peak.
“The season’s been fantastic so far,” he said. “It’s been a bit stop-start since the middle of August, but now we’ve got a few games coming up it’s exciting times.
“The boys look good – they’re in a good condition and ready to go and we’re all relishing it.”
He added: “Since July 5 when we came back in, the place has been buoyant.
“There’s a real buzz about the place, the training, the canteen and the dressing room.
“Every day when we come in it’s the same as last year, it’s just brilliant.”
And Halabi says he has no concerns over players enjoying the festive season, adding that a Christmas lunch is no issue as long as they perform on Boxing Day.
“They give us everything in terms of their fitness and can run around all day so it’s not a problem at all.”

It would be more enlightening to hear from Halabi why Kebe and Hunt get injured every 5 minutes.
