Join Jonny Fordham's Live Reading FC Web Chat

October 31, 2012

Join Royals reporter Jonny Fordham for what is sure to be a lively web chat this afternoon.

Our man will be here from 12.30pm for an hour following last night's dramatic and spectacular 7-5 home defeat to Arsenal.

How did Brian McDermott's men throw away a 4-0 lead?

Is he the man to save Royals from failure this season?

Do Reading have enough quality in their squad?

And do you feel that they can bounce back against QPR on Sunday?

Have your say and join the debate today.

Had high hopes for POg but he's slow, ineffective and cost us a great deal last night - not defending from the front

Wenger got tactics spot on in 2nd half - moved no 46 Eisfeld (brilliant in 2nd half) in hole just behind Leg'wood who had no clue and no pace, stamina to deal with it. Likewise moving fullback Miguel to pressure hapless Gunter. They were so much better than us in 2nd and ET it was embarrassing.... on that basis we have no right to claim the first half as a success. McD under pressure now, no tactiical awareness to respond to Wenger's chnages and no quality in squad (which is HIS responsibility) to change it either. Also fouled up the 'waste time with Church sub' and not having Roberts on in ET was a bad, bad mistake

Losing a 4 - 0 lead at any level is unbelievable. Like McD, but some of his regulars have failed to impress this season. McAnuff still not consistent enough to be captain. Subs - taking Roberts off was the wrong call, and Church coming on??? Alfie would have been my preference. Gorkks had a bad game, but I thought Morrison played well, much quicker and a good airial threat. Morrison and Mariappa in central defence for Sunday please. Win v QPR changes the mood dramatically. Fair bet the losing manager gets sacked on Sunday.

Personally think he has two more games. Considering the opposition 4 points are required. Anything less might be sacky wacky time. Defeats to either will set us adrift. I do not care who we get in as long as we stay up. At least new man can get settled and then buy hard in january! Hopefully bm can get the points BUT not seen much to suggest he will. 2 or 3 points from those two not enough.

We need a new Manager. Mark my words you hopeless, clueless sentimentalism-ists. We need someone who knows what he is doing at this level.

McD patently doesn't. Real and face up.
