I see the tactical geniuses are busy again from the comfort of their armchairs.......

I think everyone needs to get a grip - we've played FOUR games in a 38 game season so it isn't exactly all over yet! Clearly we need to improve but McD has a solid track record of turning things around when needed so he at least should be given a chance to do it again. Southampton didn't have a point after their first four games but after thumping Villa on Saturday suddenly everything is rosy for them. So show a bit of patience and if you call yourself a supporter - start acting like one.

We clearly need a better quality of 'hoofer' in defence, midfield and in attack. Come on Reading, we can hoof it longer n higher than we have been!!!

We signed good championship players with the exception of pog.. what did we create in 90 mins against wba? One header for hrk! That was it!

We can not doing anything about gettung in new faces til jan. We need to someone squeeze out some results out of what we have. Hope that Kebe and Roberts make a sig difference upon their return. Fans will vent their anger at another poor display on sat. If we are to lose lets at least get crosses and shots in!

I thought we had money to spend. So either that was not true, or we failed in some bids or bm thought that he had signed enough. (he eluded to the latter in interviews) therefore he will have to shoulder the blame if we are sat on 10 points in january.. We have an easier run of games in oct/nov.. For me our fate or perhaps even bm's will be decided then. Doubt Anton will put up with us being the whipping boys. Alot of nat press have slated us for being mediocre all over. Thus far mediocre reads below par for me.

1987 - look back at last season. Reading only played decent football in 2 or 3 home games. The rest were often "relegation struggles" in appearance that we won.

Our hoof and run tactics got us promotion.

If we wait 10 games as you suggest the season is then more than a quarter over.

When/If Reading get relegated is there any player in the current squad that another premier league team would want - no!

I want to watch good football being played - not Wimledon style tactics of the 70's.

McD was bold to change goalkeepers - Madejski was brave/stupid to chop Rodgers so quickly. Does anyone really think McD has got a Plan 2.

If we see the same rubbish against QPR (as we did against Peterbrough ) and Newcastle next Saturday I'm afraid a strong leader will have to make a tough decision.

Sorry people it is going to be a very painfull season if we keep playing the way we are. Picking that formation for the team, something wrong with McD's calls "lost in translation" as they say. If McD reckons there is no problem he really needs to look at those games again; and look at the team selection. They need some quality players for more depth.

Some of the comments below are embarrassing, with people needing to show some respect towards Reading FC & Brian Mcdermott! Played 4 games, please get a grip! Judge it after 10 games and then we will see

Even if we are prepared to spend £15m in January who will we be able to get if we are adrift?

Got to knuckle down and get some results some how. Some players need a shake up.

dont think we have any prem quality players, the best of the team are at best champ. players come jan. no cheque book no stay up.

i cannot see where a win would come from, if you look at the squads in the teams about us you can see the royals squad is lacking in to many positions

Perhaps we could give 3-5-2 a try or 5-3-2 depending on your view. Think Mariappa is needed in the centre with Pearce and Kasps. Could play McAnuff and McCleary as wing backs with Karacan and Leig holding. 1 up top is not enough so we do need someone with Pog. I think he has been poorly served so far with little to feed off.

Got to try something.

Well boys you need to start to think rather hard now, where you want to land up next season. McD you need to go back to the transfer war chest and bring in some quality players. The gap is starting to open up now with the points, so you better better be prepared for a on slaught from the supporters now.

Our only hope is we are not adrift come January or that Kebe and Roberts make a significant difference upon their return. Think Mariappa needs to play now too. Pog gets no supply at all. BM has to do a lot of thinking because nothing is working at all! Anton must be watching on in disbelief! However, we spent almost nothing in August so really where is the surprise. What was Sunderland's record? 15 points? Gulp!

Not enough pace throughout the team and not enough creativity. We clearly planned on staying only one season in the prem this time.

Reading spent less than every other team, that is why we are BOTTOM. West Ham & Southampton spent £25m+ on transfer fees.

Championship here we come I just hope we get more points than Derby did!

This team/tactics/manager is at least 20 points worse than the one relegated from premier league before.

Minimum £100 million income predicted next year for premier league teams. So we buy a bunch of squad players!

   TACTICS ARE TO BLAME.

McD relied on hoof and run last season ie soak up pressure hoof down field and hope to win free kick or corner. Oddly park football worked.

How stupid are we to believe this will work in premier league

Reading 1987 - by wrong players in wrong positions perhaps I should have emphasized wrong players - but by wrong positions I meant mcAnuff being moved to central midfield.

Clearly he's not up to standard as he gets moved around pitch at subs time. Today moved to right back when Cummins on bench - it's a joke!
