getreading understands that Royals boss Brian McDermott is due to meet with Wolverhampton Wanderers about the vacant manager’s job at the Premier League side.

Sources suggest that McDermott met chairman Sir John Madejski and incoming Reading owner Anton Zingarevich who are keen to keep the 50-year-old at Madejski Stadium.Wolves, who sacked Mick McCarthy a week ago, are also believed to be in talks with Brighton & Hove Albion manager Gus Poyet and another potential candidate.
