LIVE Sheffield United 3 Reading FC 0

By Jonny Fordham
January 26, 2010

Follow all the action from Bramall Lane as Reading continue their relegation fight-back on their return to Championship action with Royals reporter Jonny Fordham (7.45pm kick-off).

Caretaker boss Brian McDermott has yet to win in the league after four attempts, despite claiming two Premier League scalps in the FA Cup this season.

Former Blade Brian Howard will have to make do with a place on the bench, but ex-Royals midfielder James Harper could start for Kevin Balckwell’s seventh-placed side. You can also follow Jonny on Twitter here: http://twitter.com/JonnyFordham

January Transfer Window we bring in a grey haired full back, another Iceman and a centre half with a silly name. I can see it now Swindon will come up and we will go down. In the name of God Madjeski go now.

This is the most crucial few weeks that we've had at this club for a long time, I think the two loan signings are good, but we need a proven goalscorer - have done all season.

And where is SJM, on holiday!

It's quite clear that McDermott is here until at least the end of the season, the lack of decision is just a delay tactic as the club know, any new manager will cost money and would have expected a transfer kitty in January.

All this time we have been told that the cluib is being run the "right way" when it is now quite clear that we are in Financial trouble.

And you wonder why the supporters stayed away at the weekend.

Madejski should be called to account for the dire position the club finds itself in and the Evening Post should be leading that call.

I won't be renewing our four season tickets whilst Madejski is still running - or more correctly ruining - our club.

We have tended to do better than expected up there; for me, all about Thorvaldson. If he can be the striker we need, then he will get the chances to prove that as our football is showing signs of creativity. Actually blummin excited here, although also nervous as this is tricky.
