October 19, 2009

David Mooney and Scott Davies have both secured loan moves to League One clubs.

Striker Mooney has joined former Reading star Phil Parkinson’s Charlton until December 1 and midfielder Davies has gone to Wycombe Wanderers until Tuesday, November 17.

Both players have been on the fringes of the first-team with Davies making three Championship appearances and one in the League Cup and Mooney playing twice and scoring twice in the cup.

Davies knows the new Chairboys boss Gay Waddock well from two season-long loan spells at his former club Aldershot Town over the past two years.

Currently the following Royals players are also out on loan: James Harper (Sheff Utd), Liam Rosenior (Ipswich), James Henry (Millwall), Nicholas Bignall (Stockport), Oliver Bozanic (Cheltenham), Alex McCarthy (Yeovil) and Mikkel Andersen (Bristol Rovers), Michail Antonio (Southampton).

Loaning out these to has me more confused than ever. Scott Davies was the in-vogue man start of the season. Suddenly he is off the radar and wage bill. Sounds like a fire sale to me.

every time he plays reserves he either sets something up or scores, typical then they send him out on loan!!!

Another exciting episode of the soap opera, more players going out on lone. How will the club survie the pressure of more people leaving the sinking ship? Watch this space for another exciting episode of will Reading stay up.

i am afraid i agree with rodgers on this one, i don't think mooney up to this division - but saying that nor is long, rasiak or hunt non of these are consistant enough to get us 15 plus goals in a season, so therefore folks that is why my prediction is we are doomed

Mooney obviously dont fit in to our "managers" plans , Davies gets u/21 cap on Wednesday last and is off loaded to a struggling Div 1 team by the followong Saturday. What on earth is going on at our club ,i started to watch them when i was 7 years old in the old Div 3 [south] 60 years later unless something drastic is done we will be heading back down that route ,please god no.

I can't understand why Mooney keeps getting overlooked. Maybe a spell on loan for just over a month will get him fit and get his goalscoring eyes in. December is very busy with games so everyone needs to be match fit and raring to go.

Agree John- Moons deserves a chance for sure! He scored 3 times at Norwich in 8 games when they were struggling last season and is surely better than Rasiak?!

Mooney should be in the 1st team - NOT going out on loan. His goalscoring record compared to the other strikers we have is far better! Give the lad a chance.
