Michail Antonio joins Southampton on loan

By Jonny Fordham
October 05, 2009

Winger Michail Antonio has joined former Royals manager Alan Pardew on loan at Southampton.

The 19-year-old has joined on a one month deal and has played just one league game under Brendan Rodgers, coming on as a second-half substitute in the 3-1 win against Barnsley at Oakwell.

The former Tooting and Mitcham star goes straight into Saints’ squad for their Johnstone’s Paint Trophy match against Torquay United tomorrow night.

Antonio will be at St Mary’s until November 2.

h8s-moaners - nobody can recall a player from loan in the first month of any loan, thats the rules only if he is on official work experience. forager - he's not gonna get a game here so he might as well go get match experience elsewhere, that hopefully we may benefit from when he is called upon. the one everyone should be moaning about is at milwall and i have said all along in a 4-4-2 james henry would be my first choice right winger any day

oh sorry forager...whats the point him antonio being there if he doesnt play..and im pretty sure that Rodgers and Hammond wouldnt let a player go out on loan when we can bring them back if needed. We havnt sold him..so zip it.

That's the stuff. We haven't got much in the way of a team, but what we do have we're prepared to give away!
