Wolves hunting down Kevin Doyle

By Nick Ive
June 25, 2009

Reading striker Kevin Doyle’s future is expected to be resolved in the next week.

The Republic of Ireland international is definitely leaving Madejski Stadium for a fee of £6.5million.

He has already held talks with Wolves, but Fulham, Bolton and Sunderland are all firmly in the hunt, while there are two other unnamed Premier League clubs keen to take him.

Although Wolves have stolen a march on their rivals, Fulham remain an attractive proposition.

Doyle will want to talk with all the interested clubs before he makes a final decision.

See tomorrow’s getreading for full story.

Gibroyal you are a muppet. Bushes Bernal, do you understand punctuation? I put the word 'bigger' in quotations you numpty because I was being sarcastic. Do you know what sarcastic means? Durrr! Once you don't get promoted you can all jump back off the bandwagon and go back to supporting Chelsea and Man U! xx

Come on fellas, let's get out of this GLOOM, and move on. It seems a fact SJM has decided we have to sell, Hammond is doing his best to hawk players around, that is the name of the game. Since SJM will still be around for the foreseeable future (some say good old SJM others say ....) lets concentrate on what Brendan will be able to achieve with what he has left. I am as sore as hell about lost opportunities over the past 3 years, but looking back is now a pointless luxury.

this situation need never have arisen if the management had shown a little bit of foresight last season and even the season before.Just a small investment for a couple of new players who could possibly have rejuvenated a team who who were quite capable of securing promotion ,but for one reason or another had gone stale.Competition for places may have got rid of the complacency that had set in.I'm sure that had we attained promotion, there is no way kevin doyle would have wanted to move.Good luck to him ,he's premiership class. Big Bev.

By your reasoning you've placed Watford below Reading.

Checkmate.

Bzzzzzzzzzz Bzzzzzzzzz. Yeah he'll keep telling you he loves the club, will give his life to Watford, er I mean Reading, and he is a man of integrity every 5 minutes too. Don't believe him, he'll be off as soon as a 'bigger' club comes along.

Doyle has been the model professional. I wish him all the best wherever he ends up. Btw What's that irritating buzzing sound? Ah, it's a whining Hornet!

I just hope we don't end up going to Watford for the penultimate game of the season in a relegation scrap!

Good luck to Doyler, and thanks for all you've done at the club. £6.5million is good business and he deserves to be playing premiership football.

Maybe we could replace him with Michael Owen on a free. Afterall, BR has worked with "top players" as he keeps telling us...every 5 minutes!

And yet Reading will always finish above Watford. Its tradition.

Hanhnemann was given a free and Hunt is a terrible, terrible footballer.

Doyle will be missed but£6.5 is brilliant business.

Hahnemann, Hunt, Doyle. 3 internationals leave to be replaced by Chelsea reserves. Good luck!
