Shorey set to become Villan
Nick Ive7/ 8/2008
Nicky Shorey is on his way to Aston Villa in a deal worth around £3million.
Villa look to have beaten off competition from Sunderland and Portsmouth after Reading accepted their bid for the left-back yesterday.
We should have got more than 3 million, but still not bad. Shorey hasn't played well for most of last season, so I would rather sign a better player who cares about Reading. Shorey let Reading down last season, so it is good that we are rid of him.

He will probably buy another statue, we had a few of them last season in defence!
And how come we turned down £4 million and sold him for £3 million ????????

We bought Shorey for £25k and sold him for a £2.5mill profit and bought Ginger Dave for £100k and sold him for a £5.4m profit. It is not time for Madjeski to splash the cash and get us back where we belong.
