Coppell slams agents' transfer hype

Steve Coppell has hit out at the agents driving the transfer rumour mill – and believes players who believe the hype may be left high and dry.

The Reading manager called his squad in for pre-season training last week and walked into a flurry of questions regarding the futures of his top players.

   Steve Coppell is spot on - agents are one of the key problems with football these days as they only make money if players move clubs. Transfer fees, agents fees, signing on fees are ridiculous and it is the gullible fans who end up paying over the odds to watch a game.
