Bartley quits as Reading Town boss

June 03, 2012

Mark Bartley has resigned as manager of Reading Town.

Bartley, who guided Town to a seventh place finish in the Hellenic Premier Division last season and saw his charges win the Supplementary Cup with a 4-3 win over Reading rivals Highmoor Ibis, is alleged to have walked out yesterday following disagreements with the club's hierarchy about the way the club should be taken forward.

Following his decision to quit, Bartley took to social newtorking side Twitter, saying: "Have just resigned as manager of Reading Town Football Club. Has been a great year, and I wish the club all the best for the future."

It is understood a number of Bartley's backroom staff have also departed Scours Lane following the manager's decision to walk out.
