Bracknell Town U18’s took a giant stride to securing the Allied Counties Youth Football League South Division with victory over local rivals and fellow title chasers Binfield on Wednesday night.

The young Robins now have the title destiny in their own hands and victory in their final game next Wednesday at home to Alton Town will see the U18’s secure the league title for the first time in their history.

Seb Bowerman gave the visitors an early lead, but leading scorer Louis Wilson equalised soon after from the penalty spot after Jack McLean was fouled inside the area.

Wilson put Bracknell ahead at the break with a shot off the right-hand post.

Goalkeeper Matt Hill made a crucial save on the hour mark to keep his side in front and Wilson duly completed his hat-trick with a side-footed effort from a Sam Barratt cross to secure the important victory.

Alton are on a good run of form so will provide a tough challenge, but the Robins have only lost once in the league all season and Steve Jenner’s men will be confident of gaining the all-important three points and the trophy.

Kick-off is at 7.45pm on Wednesday 18th April. Entry is £3 for adults and £1.50 for concessions.
