Bracknell Town FC 0 Hungerford Town FC 2

March 18, 2010

Bracknell Town fell to another defeat as visitors Hungerford Town ran out two-goal winners in a scrappy affair witnessed by a season low crowd of just 41.

Lewis Brownhill should have put the away team ahead in the eighth minute, but Kyle Bradley made a brilliant save by diving to his left and tipping the ball around the post.

The hosts played a very high line which asked a lot of themselves and the assistant referee as the Crusaders poured forward with attack after attack, but the Robins were holding on.

Paulo Cicero and Danny Blatchford both fired straight at the goalkeeper as David Tuttle’s side were limited to long-range efforts.

Hungerford eventually beat the offside trap in the 37th minute to open the scoring as Jamie Green ran in at goal, held off Max Elliott and fired goalwards from an acute angle with Bradley only able to parry the ball over the line.

The second half was equally as dull a 45-minute spell with chances few and far between.

Luke Brewer put the game beyond Bracknell in the 75th minute as he walked through the defence and slotted into the far left-hand corner.

Tuttle’s side travel to Bristol-based Mangotsfield United on Saturday, before North Leigh visit Larges Lane on Tuesday evening (7.45pm kick-off).

Bracknell Town: Bradley, Bruce, Bradshaw, G. Smith (Richardson 85), Elliott, Mudge, Poulton, Dean, Cicero, MacDonald (Lavine 63), Blatchford. Subs not used: Abbott, D. Smith, Elamir.
