Bicester Town FC 2 Binfield FC 5

March 02, 2010

Three goals in the opening 16 minutes effectively sealed victory for Binfield in soaking conditions at Bicester in the Hellenic Premier Division on Saturday.

Callum Whitty opened the scoring on four minutes, before Ian Davies continued his fine run of form in front of goal with a further two goals soon after.

Bicestermanaged to gain something of a foothold in the game before the break, but couldn’t make any of their chances pay and Binfield led 3-0 at half-time.

Kyle McCoy took advantage of some lazy Binfield defending to make it 3-1 early in the second half.

However, any hopes of a Bicester comeback were dashed just before the hour mark when Davies looped a header over the stranded keeper to seal his hat-trick.

As Binfield introduced some subs, the fersh legs paid off as Steve Nebbett released Danny Wing to score number five.

Bicester, though, earned a deserved second goal in injury time as Tommy Hayday curled a delightful corner round the wall.

Next up for Steve McClurg’s men are Kidlington at home on Saturday (3pm kick-off).
