Reprieve for Bracknell Town FC
June 01, 2009
Bracknell Town FC's prayers have been answered with news that they will continue to play in step four of the football league structure next season.
The Robins, having finished second from bottom in British Gas Division 1 South & West, looked to be heading for relegation into the Hellenic League.
However, following some clubs in divisions below failing to meet league standards for their grounds, with other clubs in higher divisions going out of business, Bracknell were handed a reprieve from relegation, and will be competing in the Southern League again next season.
The news will come as a huge relief to fans, players and officials, but even more so than new boss Kerthny Carty, who was eager to sink his teeth into a managerial job in the Southern League.
The former Maidenhead United reserve team boss found himself continually loaning out his players to Southern League teams, like Bracknell, and is itching to be on the other end of those deals.
The line-up for Division One South & West for the 2009/10 season is: AFC Hayes, AFC Totton, Abingdon United, Andover, Bedfont Green, Bishops Cleeve, Bracknell Town, Bridgwater Town, Cinderford Town, Cirencester Town, Frome Town, Gosport Borough, Hungerford Town, Mangotsfield United, North Leigh, Paulton Rovers, Taunton Town, Thatcham Town, Uxbridge, VT FC, Windsor & Eton, Yate Town.
