Chris Geary’s strike proved nothing more than a consolation for Bracknell Town who remain a point above Andover after their 3-1 defeat by Truro City at Larges Lane.

The Robins were two down after just six minutes when Stuart Yetton fired home from the penalty spot, and fellow former Plymouth Argyle striker Ian Stonebridge doubled the visitors lead a minute late after jinking through the defence.

Geary pulled it back to 2-1 on 22 minutes after rising highest to a loose ball, following a mix up in the Truro defence. Bracknell piled on the pressure but Yetton finished them off four minutes from the break.

Binfield won 1-0 at Ascot in the  Berks & Bucks Intermediate Cup third round  thanks to Ben Lyden’s 89th-minute header. Finchampstead also advanced with a 1-0 victory at home to Bracknell Town Reserves, while Newbury won 3-0 at home to Frilsham & Yattendon.

In Division 1 East, Wokingham & Emmbrook drew 0-0 at home to Englefield Green Rovers, and Holyport beat Rayners Lane 3-0.

Sandhurst Town celebrated back to back league wins with a 3-1 victory at Bottom Meadow over near neighbours Chertsey Town in the Combined Counties Premier.
