Top three stay unbeaten

The top three teams all retained their 100-per-cent records after Week 4 of the Bracknell Forest Standard Summer League.

Wednesday night saw some of the most exciting games of the league so far, and none more so than Victorious Secret’s narrow 4-3 defeat of Unreal Madrid.

Unreal Madrid looked destined to take the points as they held a 3-2 lead going into the final stages of the match, courtesy of a double strike from player-manager Luke Whitethorn and a goal from Joe Stevenson.

However, two late goals sealed all three points for second-placed Victorious, as Sven Hovden’s brace and goals from Ewan Wilson and Patrick Anderson saw them home.

Manor Old Boys remain head of the table following a hard-fought 2-0 win against 3M FC.

3M pushed the leaders all the way, but Manor went ahead in the first half with a hotly-disputed Pete Licourinos goal.

Licourinos, though, put the game beyond doubt, and went joint-top of the goalscoring charts at the same time, when he stooped to head home the second after the break.

Bracknell Boys made it three wins from three with a comfortable 6-0 win against basement-boys The Imps.

Imps kept the score down for a while, but a late flurry of goals saw Bracknell to victory.

Braces apiece for Andy Brint, Lewis Jones and Dan Walker saw them move up to third in the table.

The evening’s other game was a cracker as FC Royals edged it against Norfolk An Hope 5-3.

It seemed Norfolk were in store to pick up their first point of the season thanks to goals from David Goodall (2) and Chris Goodall.

Royals refused to roll over, however, and goals from Aaron Wilcox (2), Tom Fraser, James Evans and Michael Lovelock saw them to their first three points in the league.
