Mordt wants winning end as Berkshire skipperBy Dave Wright

Berkshire are hoping that skipper Bjorn Mordt will have a change of luck when he leads his side out against Devon in the Minor Counties Championship at Finchampstead next Sunday, Monday and Tuesday (11am start each day).
The Henley allrounder is making his 50th championship appearance in what is the county’s last Western Division home game of the season.
“It would be nice if we can celebrate the occasion with a win,” said team manager Jeff Jones.
Mordt is planning to stand down as captain at the end of the year.
Berkshire are also wishing for a change of fortune as their three previous games have been badly affected by the wet weather.
But they are only 11 points behind joint Western Division leaders Cornwall and Shropshire.
And as Mordt says: “With three games left we still have plenty to play for and we are certainly not out of the title race.
“There is still a lot of cricket to be played this season, but at the moment it all depends on the weather.”
It was Devon who denied Berkshire the Western Division crown last year, winning the title decider by 10 wickets at Sidmouth.
On that occasion Berkshire were forced to field a much-depleted side and they will be vastly stronger at Finchampstead. Berkshire make one change from the side involved in the abandoned game with Shropshire at Falkland last week, with former Middlesex spinner Chris Peploe replacing teenage paceman Tom Nugent.
It will be the Ealing player’s first championship appearance of the season and he will be one of four spinners in the team, joining Shaun Udal, Euan Brock and Gurveer Singh.
This means Mordt could open the bowling as well as the batting.
Opening bat Michael Roberts remains unavailable due to his commitments with the Hampshire second team.
Berkshire team: Mordt, Barnes (both Henley), Jones (Finchampstead), Morris (Falkland), Naylor (Sedgefield), Brock (Henley), Peploe (Ealing), Davison (Henley), Udal (Leatherhead), Sturmer (East Grinstead), Singh (Henley). 12th man: Gumbs (Reading).
