First came After Juliet, imagining Verona in the aftermath of Shakespeare’s big romantic tragedy, and now this play, dealing with a year stuck in a castle in rainy Yorkshire following the assassination of Thomas à Becket.

7. Andy Parsons, Concert Hall, 11/4/08.

Andy Parsons has a very distinctive tone of delivery, familiar to anyone who has heard him on the radio, which makes every statement sound something like an aggressive non sequitur waiting for it’s moment of laughter. Fortunately most of what Parsons says gets that laughter, and more.
