One million pounds is being spent on providing new community and sports facilities at The Parks development in Bracknell Forest.
Leading housebuilder Taylor Wimpey has pledged to invest £1 million in creating football, cricket and rugby pitches, an all-weather multi-use games area and a community facility to enhance the lives of local people and transform the area.
The Parks is a development of 730 homes located on the site of Ramslade House, a former RAF training college.
It features a combination of one- and two-bedroom apartments and two-, three- and four-bedroom houses all surrounded by woodland and yet less than a mile from Bracknell town centre and the train station.
More than 300 of the homes have already been built and the development is set for completion in 2015. The new community and sports facilities are due to be completed within the next two years.
Tim Betts, regional sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey, said: “Every single home we build is part of a community and we are committed to ensuring that The Parks does much more than just provide high quality properties for local people.
“This exciting new community project will bring a wealth of fresh recreation opportunities for Bracknell Forest residents and we are very much looking forward to turning our plans into reality.”
Homes currently available for sale at The Parks include two-bedroom apartments from £179,995, two-bedroom houses from £224,995, three-bedroom properties from £249,995 and four-bedroom houses from £369,995.
