Borough does more composting

People in Bracknell are recycling and composting more of their household waste than people in Reading and Wokingham.
Figures show that Bracknell people recycled, reused or composted 42 per cent of their rubbish in the first half of this financial year, up from 40 per cent over the whole of last year.
The percentage of waste going into landfill fell from 60 per cent last year to 56 per cent so far this year.
In Reading, 38 per cent of rubbish was reused, recycled or composted, up from 34 per cent last year.
Landfill fell from 63 per cent to 58 per cent.
In Wokingham, 37.6 per cent of rubbish was reused, recycled or composted, up from 37 per cent last year.
Landfill fell from 62 per cent to 59 per cent.
The data, which will be presented to a meeting of the Joint Waste Disposal Board held in Bracknell on Tuesday is collected when refuse lorries pass over weighbridges at waste sites.
