Green Day to headline Reading Festival 2013

By Caroline Cook
March 11, 2013

Pop punk gods Green Day have been announced as the final headliner for this year's Reading Festival.

The American band, who made a surprise performance at last year's festival, will headline the main stage on the Friday with Eminen headlining on Saturday and Biffy Clyro on Sunday.

All three acts are UK festival exclusives so you won't find them at any other UK festival this year.

System of a Down and Deftones also return to Reading playing on Friday while Nine Inch Nails and Fall Out Boy will play on Sunday.

Mercury Music prize winners Alt-J will headline the NME/Radio 1 stage, along with French group Phoenix.

Headliners for the BBC Radio 1 Dance Stage are Sub Focus Live, Magnetic man and electronic dance music heavyweights Knife Party.

A new BBC Radio 1Xtra stage is also being launched this year with headliners Wiley and Devlin already confirmed.

Other acts also announced for this year's Reading Festival, which runs from Friday, August 23, to Sunday, August 25, include Alex Clare, Bastille, Editors, Foals, New Found Glory, Hadouken!, Haim, Jake Bugg, The Lumineers, Chase and Status and Azealia Banks.

Reading Festival favourite Frank Turner is also back, returning for his seventh consecutive year.

Weekend tickets £202.50 plus booking fees and day tickets are £90 plus booking fees. Tickets are on sale now.

To book online or via telephone visit www.festivalrepublic.com, www.readingfestival.com, reading.seetickets.com, or call 0871 231 0821. Tickets are limited to a maximum of four per person/address/payment card.
