Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro have been announced as a headliner for this year's Reading Festival.

The band, whose hits include Many of Horror and Mountains, are joined on the line-up by American rock band Fall Out Boy, who announced their return to music today after a four year break.

In a UK festival exclusive Fall Out Boy will take to the main stage to play new material and songs from their 12 year back catalogue.

Other acts confirmed this evening include Jake Bugg, System Of A Down, Foals and Bring Me The Horizon.

Melvin Benn, Reading and Leeds Festival organiser, said: "I am excited to welcome Biffy Clyro as UK festival exclusive headliners for Reading & Leeds Festivals 2013.

"With their new number one double album Opposites just released this looks set to be a huge year for the band and where better to see them live than at than at the festival?"

Singer-songwriter Jake Bugg, who released his debut album last year, will perform for the second year in a row moving from the BBC Introducing stage to the NME/Radio 1 stage.

Mr Benn added: "We have also just announced System Of A Down - whose last performance at Leeds Festival in 2003 was one of my favourite ever sets at the festival - Foals, Bring Me The Horizon and in another UK festival exclusive, Fall Out Boy, who have recently reformed.

"With exciting additions to the festival site and many more names to be announced, 2013 really is going to be an amazing year. I can’t wait to see you all there!".

Other acts already confirmed for this year's festival include Eminem, Deftones, Sub Focus and Alt-J.
