Reading Festival 2013 line-up
November 29, 2012
Alternative metal band Deftones have been announced as one of the main stage acts for next year's Reading Festival.
The American band will be bringing big sounds to Reading next year with plenty of material from their seven albums including new record Koi No Yokan.
"We are thrilled to be returning to Reading and Leeds," said the band. "In previous years it's always been a highlight for us and we are honoured to have been invited back."
The first acts for next year's have been released today with 2012 newcomers Alt-J also on the bill.
The indie rock quartet will play the NME/Radio 1 stage, while Sub Focus will bring their drum 'n' bass sound to the Radio 1 Dance Stage.
Grime trio Boy Better Know - made up of Wiley, JME and Skepta - will christen the new Radio 1Xtra stage with their first headline festival set.
Reading Festival takes place across the Bank Holiday weekend in August. Presale tickets go on sale tomorrow at 9am. The tickets will be on sale for a limited time only at the 2012 weekend ticket price of £197.50 plus booking fee and postage.
A deposit scheme has also been launched so you can save your spot at Reading 2013 for £50. If you pay the deposit before midnight on December 31 you will have until March 31, 2013 to pay off the rest of the ticket balance.

It should be an 'alternative' band festival with exciting electronica thrown in too (SBTRKT last year stunning). Unfortunately it is now solely for profit.
P.S if you aren't happy with the price & line-up, please support your local music scene should a band you like come to town instead of moaning about it on here year in year.
Peace

"We're charging more this year right?" "Of course! What kind of question is that?!" "Why though?" "Because we can"

No doubt further announcements will confirm the same handful of monotonous drivel we are expected to shell out for every year just to hear the few good bands in between.
