A cafe owner in Wokingham is planning to do battle with the Government to get traders a better business rates deal.
Jason Dellbridge, owner of Aroma in Denmark Street, has launched a personal crusade aiming to persuade the Government to drop the prices for having a business in the town.
Mr Dellbridge’s first move is to meet with officers from Wokingham Borough Council to drum up support for the idea.
He is meeting with the council in two weeks time after he returns from holiday.
If he is successful, he hopes to gain the support of Wokingham MP John Redwood to take the matter to Parliament.
Business rates are something Mr Redwood has raised with the Government on a number of occasions.
He feels the system of taking money from one area and giving it to another is unfair.
