Bushes on fire near council office

By Jennie Slevin
March 15, 2013

A row of bushes which caught fire have been extinguished.

A fire crew from Bracknell was called out to the bushes in Market Street, just a few metres down from Bracknell Forest Council's offices, at 1.05pm.

A spokeswoman from Royal Berkshire Fire and Rescue said: "They sent a stop message at 1.13pm.

"It was just a case of dampening them down."

The fire is being regarded as an accident.

No, I’d rather news than a story on a tiny fire that was put out by a tiny hose. It is made out to be something it’s not. Sadly, there is no real news in Bracknell to comment on other than Dr Doolittle. It would be nice to hear about something positive. Although our little bush fires do give some of us warped minded people something to have a little giggle about. A real bush fire is something like the Swinley Forest Fire, not a burning ember at the side of the road. Keep happy and don’t take life too seriously.

HK, you're essentially moaning about the local paper reporting local news there. Perhaps you'd prefer it if the site was filled up with pointless celebrity pictures like the nationals?

This paper seems obsessed with fires!!! Bin fires and now bush fires. I wonder if it’s divine intervention and the mighty powers are trying to tell BRP that perhaps their “vision” is not really going to be what they think. Where’s Moses when you want him to interpret? Frank, you brightened my day after work –thank you!!

The Market St. Bush Fire of 2013 will go down in Bracknell folklore. We owe a great debt to these two heroic men, it could have been carnage!

I put out a fire once in a nightclub in 1987. I threw my Guiness over the flames and many lives were almost certainly saved. The club management were so grateful that they bought me another pint ;-)

This fire was brought under control by 2 men that work for ringway who driving past at the time in a road sweeper and used there jet wash that is built into the vechicle and as one was tackling the blaze the other was on the phone to the fire service. They acted in sheer quick response and bravery before the fire could cause more damage.
