Items stolen from car parked at supermarket

By Becky Barnes
March 14, 2013

A suit, an overnight bag and an iPod were taken from a car in a supermarket car park.

The car was targeted in the Warfield Tesco car park at just after 6.30pm last night (Wednesday).

Fears raised over thefts from cars

Police believe the thieves may have used a special device to interfere with car locking systems following a spate of thefts from parked cars as there were no signs of forced entry.

Police warning after break-ins at car park

A police spokeswoman said: "We would once again remind drivers to ensure that their vehicle is locked when parked, checking the indicators flash and by testing the door.

"Be aware of your surroundings, particularly vehicles where someone is sat inside, possibly watching drivers locking their cars.

"Report anything suspicious immediately."

Anyone with information call 101.
