A man has been cleared of kidnapping, attempting to rape and sexually assaulting a Bracknell woman.
Mark Rickard, 46, was acquitted at Reading Crown Court this afternoon (Thursday) of three charges relating to an incident at the Hilton Hotel, Bagshot Road, on July 27 last year.
During the seven-day trial Walton Hornsby, prosecuting, accused Mr Rickard of taking advantage of the-then 33-year-old woman, following Olympic opening ceremony festivities at The Goose pub, in Station Road, Bracknell.
Nadine Radford, defending, said Mr Rickard had not behaved in a way as someone who wanted to take advantage but said he was looking out for the drunk woman.
Rickard, of Reading Road, Burghfield Common, Reading, was cleared after the jury of six men and six women took more than six hours to return their verdict.
