Warning to older people in Ascot over unexpected roof repair men

By Becky Barnes
March 06, 2013

Neighbours of elderly or vulnerable people have been asked to be vigilant following reports of traders demanding money for roof or guttering work in North Ascot.

Police have warned people to keep an eye out for any suspicious or unexpected visitors or vehicles calling at properties.

Margaret Weber, police, neighbourhood watch and community messaging coordinator for Bracknell, said: “Although it may be the case that the resident may have requested this work to be carried out through conventional means, it is always worthwhile to check.

“If you feel the caller appears suspicious or if you feel concerned contact the police immediately.”
