A writer from Bracknell has won a national competition to be the official blogger for a range of kitchen ingredients.

Filipa Kay, of Priestwood, was presented her award by TV chef and I’m a Celebrity, Get Me Out of Here star Rosemary Schrager.

The 32-year-old started her blog about cooking healthy and quick recipes for busy mums, after the birth of her first son, Joshua, who’s now four.

She said: “When you become a mum you suddenly have to think about another person and I found I was struggling to cook meals that suited my new lifestyle.”

Filipa worked on her blog part-time until she had Daniel, now two. She said: “I found childcare was so expensive that it was better to stay at home, so then writing the blog became my career.”

The hard-working mother was chosen from hundreds of UK hopefuls after the competition challenged online writers to cook with Gourmet Garden herbs and spices, which come in tubes.

Filipa said: “I entered the competition because I just thought it was something my blog could relate to, my cooking.

“The products we had to use were convenient and go hand in hand with what I like to do.”
