Bonfire smoke causes danger on busy road

By Becky Barnes
February 18, 2013

A smoky bonfire near Coral Reef caused danger to traffic on Nine Mile Ride today (Monday).

Firefighters from Bracknell station attended the scene at around 11am after a passer-by raised the alarm.

Crew manager Scott Pay said: "A gardener was doing some work and it generated a lot of smoke because the stuff he put on the fire was wet.

"We would ask people to be considerate about other people when burning a fire, especially when it is near a busy road."

The fire crew put out the fire within 15 minutes.
