February 12, 2013

The A33 is now fully re-opened following a fatal collision last night in which a 19-year-old died during a police pursuit.

The crash happened at 11.25pm when police were following a red Ford Fiesta.

Acting Supt Henry Parsons, from the joint roads policing unit, said: "A 19-year-old man, believed to be from the Fiesta, sadly lost his life in the collision.

"We have referred the incident to the Independent Police Complaints Commission."

The A33 in Reading between Rose Kiln Lane and Berkeley Avenue was closed for all of this morning causing widespread disruption for drivers and bus services.

Anyone with information should call the police non-emergency number 101.
