No more snow forecast after today

February 11, 2013

Parts of Wokingham and Bracknell got a dusting of snow last night but while some commuters faced delays this morning, the rest of the week should remain clear.

The Met Office forecast outbreaks of rain, sleet and snow will die away throughout today but freezing temperatures tonight could bring the risk of ice on untreated roads and pavements.

Temperatures are expected to rise towards the end of the week.

Loddon Bridge Park and Ride in Winnersh is closed today due to the risk of flooding.

The Environment Agency has issued flood alerts for the River Thames at Pangbourne and Purley and for Shiplake, Lower Shiplake and Wargrave.

A flood alert has also been issued for the River Loddon including Swallowfield, Arborfield, Shinfield, Barkham, Lower Earley, Shinfield, Winnersh, Woodley, Hurst and Waltham St Lawrence

The agency warns that levels on the Loddon are rising in response to yesterday's heavy rainfall. The river is expected to overtop its banks in places, especially in the Twyford area but property flooding is not expected.
