Lorry overturns in Bagshot Road

By Becky Barnes
February 11, 2013

A lorry driver was forced to climb up two ladders to escape his truck when it flipped in Bagshot Road this morning (Monday).

Fire crews from Bracknell and Wokingham, plus a Heavy Rescue Unit from Dee Road, Reading, assisted the man after his lorry slid and collided with the barrier near Sainsbury's at around 5.30am.

Bracknell watch manager Gary Nash said: "The lorry had turned on its side so we had to put one ladder up against the vehicle and another ladder against it so he could climb up.

"It is lucky he hit the barrier as there is a big drop on the other side."

The lorry was empty as the driver was on his way to pick goods up when the crash happened.

Watch manager Nash added the driver was "very shaken" and was taken to hospital to be checked for injuries.
