Access road to minimise disruption while Broadmoor revamp is carried out

By Becky Barnes
February 08, 2013

Broadmoor redevelopment bosses have explained how an access road will minimise construction traffic through Crowthorne town centre.

West London Mental Health Trust (WLMHT) says it commissioned the road from the A3095 Foresters Way to minimise disruption while works take place at the hospital in Old Broadmoor Road.

A WLMHT spokeswoman said: “Used by all redevelopment construction traffic, the road will eradicate the need for our contractors to travel through Crowthorne town centre.

“Following the redevelopment, it will become the main access route for staff and visitors, creating longer-term benefits for the community, by diverting hospital traffic away from the village. Preparation work for the road construction began in December 2012 and we are working closely with Bracknell Forest Council and our contractors to ensure motorists will be fully informed throughout the roadworks, which run until January 2014.”
