A smashed up stolen car was abandoned in the lake at South Hill Park last night.
The silver Renault was dumped in North Lake, Ringmead and discovered at around 2.30am this morning after it was swiped from the Hanworth area.
Bracknell crew manager Scott Pay said police called fire crews to the scene at around 3am following concerns someone could be trapped inside or in the water.
A boat crew from Caversham Road fire station, Reading, put on wetsuits and checked around the car but found no driver or passengers.
Firefighters were at the scene for around 40 minutes.
A police spokeswoman said the owners had been informed and the car was towed from the lake at around 11am this morning.
