Three-car smash causes delays on M4

Three cars collided in the central lane of the M4 causing delays this morning (Saturday).
Fire crews from Maidenhead and Wokingham were called to the three-car smash westbound between junctions 8/9 and 10 at 11.15am.
Maidenhead crew manager Tom Woolgar said two fire engines from his station stayed to make the scene safe as the Wokingham crew were on the other side of the carriageway.
He added: "It was just before junction 10 - the traffic was slowed down and we made it safe by shutting off two lanes and moving everyone to the hard shoulder."
An ambulance attended and first aid was given at the scene but no one was taken to hospital.
