Woman cut free after three-car smash in Winkfield

By Becky Barnes
January 26, 2013

A passenger was taken to hospital with possible spinal injuries after three cars collided this afternoon (Saturday).

The woman, thought to be in her 20s, was travelling in a Mercedes Coupe when the three-car smash happened in Braziers Lane, Winkfield, at around 12.45pm.

Bracknell watch manager Miles Cooper said: "We had to cut the roof off the car to help the lady into the ambulance on a spinal board."

Bracknell firefighters were first on the scene with back up from a crew from Wokingham station and both crews spent around an hour removing the roof.

Wokingham crew manager Russell Gascoigne said the car had taken "reasonably heavy impact" and the woman was complaining of back pains.

He added there were other "walking wounded" who were helped by ambulance crews.
